This year’s Spring Gala was held on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Cipriani 42nd Street.

Designed with entertaining in mind, this black-tie benefit event began at 7PM with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner at 8PM and Gala Performance at 9:15PM.

This year’s star-studded Gala was hosted by Tony Award ® winner Christine Baranski and featured show-stopping performances by Broadway’s most exciting talents, including the new musicals: A’int Misbehavin’; Billy Elliot, The Devil’s Music; HAIR; Shrek The Musical, and West Side Story. MTC was also pleased to honor Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) for its longtime support of and commitment to the organization.

All proceeds from the Spring Gala support MTC’s mission to produce the best new and contemporary plays and to provide arts education and outreach programs to thousands of students, teachers and family members each year.
